WHAT IS GOOD JOINT HEALTH?

Good joint health is made up of several factors:

  • Joint flexibility - Joint can move smoothly and has appropriate range of motion

  • Joint strength - Joint can handle desired task without injury

  • Joint capacity - The maximum amount of force tolerance your joint can handle. This must be greater than the desired task to prevent injury.

  • Independent movement - Bones adjacent to joints move independently of one another when joint is in motion

  • Pinching sensation - No  pinching sensation should be felt when joint is moving through its entire range of motion
